“Personal Prophecy”

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Notice the word “proceeds,” it’s a “present tense” verb. This means it happens “now”! Jesus didn’t use the word “proceeded” because that would have indicated a “past tense” verb. Jesus also said in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me.” Well, are you a “sheep”? Believe it or not, the Lord God still speaks to His people! Christians who attend churches that allow and embrace the manifestation of the Holy Spirit and the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit have certainly “seen” and “heard” prophetic words spoken by the Lord, through a person, corporately or to the church congregation, but have you ever had a prophetic word spoken “personally” just to you? What an exciting experience! If so, what do you do with it and how do you handle it? The unique thing about “personal prophecy” is that we have a part to play in the manifestation of that prophetic word spoken to us. “What do you mean we have a part to play?” Concerning “personal prophecy”, the prophetic word spoken to you by the Lord tells you “what can be” in your life in the days ahead. It’s like a “prophetic invitation” to you describing what the Lord desires for you to receive and walk in in the days ahead! We can either accept or reject this “invitation”! If we accept it and believe it, apply and prepare ourselves for it, then it will happen! If we reject it and don’t believe it, it won’t happen. Even if we do accept the prophetic word and we don’t apply ourselves and don’t prepare ourselves and we just “presume” and “assume” on God to just “do it all”, then that prophetic word will not come to pass in our life. First, we must believe it to receive it! The biblical concept or definition of the word “believe” consists of more than just a “mental belief”, it involves actions and commitment! Believing in our head is one thing, but believing in our heart is another! Believing in your heart will cause you to willingly make the changes necessary! So, you must believe it, make the changes and prepare yourself to receive it! You also must retain it to obtain it! Don’t get discouraged and give up on your prophetic word if it doesn’t happen immediately! You will have to fight for your prophetic word because the enemy will try to steal, kill and destroy it by using discouragement, disappointment, depression and doubt! Always remember, when these things come to taunt and mock you about your prophetic word, then use that prophetic word, have it printed out, and read it out loud to the devil so you can also hear it and let faith arise in your heart which will destroy the lies of the enemy! Always remember, the Word of the Lord, both written and spoken, is your “Sword of the Spirit”, use it that you may wage the good warfare and fight for your “personal prophecy”!
