“The Heavenly Second Amendment”

How many of you realize there is such a thing as “spiritual warfare”? How many of you realize we’re in it every day of our lives? Satan declared war on us the day we were born and being a Christian doesn’t exempt us from it. There are many people in the world and even many Christians who don’t know that there’s a “spiritual war” being waged against them because they haven’t been taught about “spiritual warfare”. If you don’t know there’s a war going on and you’re in it and you don’t know how to fight it, you’re in big trouble! The Lord knows the warfare that each of us must face and He’s provided the information of how to fight this warfare and He’s provided the weapons to use to fight this warfare! He truly is our “Jehovah Jireh”! In the natural realm, we have the Second Amendment to our Constitution that says, “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” In the spiritual realm, we (as Christians) have a “Heavenly Second Amendment” that gives not only the right to bear arms; we have the responsibility to bear arms (or our spiritual weapons) in our “spiritual warfare”! The Apostle Paul clearly explains that our weapons are not natural weapons such as guns, rifles and machine guns. Our weapons are “supernatural, spiritual weapons” so we can successfully fight our “spiritual warfare”! (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 please read) Paul goes on to describe the armor and weapons the Lord has provided for us in Ephesians 6:10-17 (please read). Notice verse seventeen (17); this is our weapon, “the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.”! Our sword, the Word of God, consists of both the “Logos” which is the written Word of God or the Bible and the “Rhema” which is the spoken Word of God or the Prophetic Word of God. This is our weapon; this is our Sword of the Spirit! Jesus used this same weapon to defeat Satan on the Mount of Temptation in Matthew 4:4, 7, and 10 (please read). Notice verse four (4), here Jesus uses both the Logos and the Rhema Word as weapons in, “It is written…” and “By every word that proceeds from the Mouth of God.” This is why it’s so important to know the Word of God. Paul confirms this in 2 Timothy 2:15 and @ Timothy 3:1 (please read). “In order to face and overcome what you must face in the days ahead, you must become “people of courage”, “people of faith”, and “people of My Word, saith the Lord.!”
